Paul Lorenz Arndt, age 95 of Prescott, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Sunday, April 11, 2021 He was preceded in death by his wife; Margaret Ann (Norton) and daughter; Monica Ann (Arndt) Harper.

Paul Lorenz Arndt was born on July 26, 1925 in Heimdal, North Dakota to the late Emil and Wilhelmina (Leistico) Arndt. At the age of 14, he was inspired by Canadian singing and yodeling artist; Wilf Carter (known in the United States as Montana Slim). Paul earned money to buy his first guitar by picking pickles. He taught himself to play by using and instruction booklet and listening to the radio. He later toured with a country music group called the Kansas City Ramblers, singing and playing in clubs and auditoriums throughout the country. When Paul and his wife, Margaret Ann decided to raise a family, he retired from the business. However, music has always remained a vital part of his life. He would still sing and yodel for family and friends who never tired of hearing the old tunes that are part of our country’s history. After well over half a century, Paul still could remember and sing more than 150 great Country / Western classics. Beyond music, Paul was a devoted family man who enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. His favorite trout fishing spots were the Rifle River in Ogemaw County and the Fox River in the Upper Peninsula. Paul especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive guests from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at the Buresh Funeral Home (101 Harrison Street, Prescott, Michigan 48756). There will also be visitation from 12 Noon until the time of the service at 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the Faith Lutheran Church (5315 Henderson Lake Road, Prescott, Michigan 48756).
