Obituary Notice

Donald C. Springsteen was born on September 20th, 1955 to Lloyd and Eunice Springsteen in Tawas City, MI. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 6th, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Don was a devoted and loving husband for 36 years, as well as an amazing father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Christine; daughters, Heather (Kenny) Davis and Lauryn Springsteen (Derek Gillings); son, Aaron (Nicole) Springsteen; grandchildren, Morganne, Danny and Gracelyn; great-grandchildren, Colt and Addyson; Sister, Karen (Mark) Lasley; Sister in Law, Julie (Phil) Galloway; Brother in Law, Gunnar Isaac; Nieces, Kelsey, Lindsay, Krista and Shelby; Nephews, Jason, Aaron and Hunter; Mother in Law, Bonnie; Golf Wife, Dennis; all his brothers at the Hale F.O.E. and many more extended family members and friends that loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Eunice Springsteen; sisters, Lauri Lee and Jeri; Father in Law, Gordon Isaac, and Sister in Law, Kimberly Isaac.

Don was a very active member in the Hale Fraternal Order of Eagles #4217, serving as the Past Worthy President, Trustee and Master Fish Fryer. He enjoyed all of the many events put on at the club and was always proud of the positive changes that he and others made to improve the organization. However, the greatest part about the Eagles’ Club was the many wonderful friendships that he gained with his brothers and sisters.

Don was also a long time member of the Wicker Hills Golf Course where he spent every day possible on the links. His goal was always to be the first one out in the Spring and the last one off in the Fall. He loved all of his golf buddies that he made through the many leagues, outings and his time working on the course. He was a proud UAW retiree from General Motors where he worked for 30 years. He recommitted his life to Jesus Christ in January 2021 while attending the Hale United Methodist Church. He found great peace and comfort through the prayers of the congregation and the love and spiritual guidance of his Pastor and friend, Mel.

Don had many hobbies including golf, watching golf and golfing some more. He also loved hunting and fishing, as long as it didn’t interfere with his golfing. He was a diehard University of Michigan fan, attending many football and basketball games, but his favorite being when he watched them beat Ohio State in 2011 at the Big House. He loved watching many other sports too, including the Tigers, Red Wings, Pistons, Lions and Nascar. Though he loved all of these things, family was the most important to him and he will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday June 9th, 2021 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home (121 S. Washington Street, Hale, Michigan 48739).

On Thursday June 10th, 2021 the family will receive visitors at the Hale United Methodist Church (201 W. Main Street, Hale, Michigan 48739) from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., when the service will begin.

Following the service, per his wishes, Don will be cremated with burial at a later date.

Please join the family for a luncheon in celebration of Don’s life immediately following the service at the Hale Fraternal Order of Eagles #4217 5971 M-65 Hale, MI 48739.

Memorials

Donations can be made in Don’s honor to the Hale F.O.E. #4217 scholarship fund, as he was always a big supporter of continuing education.

Sorry to hear of Cousin Don's passing. I'm glad I was able to chat with him at Uncle Lloyd's burial luncheon at the Eagle's Club. You could tell he was proud of the place and he made sure the bartender took care of me with a couple of drinks. You chose a very good picture of him to put on this site. Thinking of you all during this sad time. God bless.
