Obituary Notice

Craig Gordon Lundsted, age 76, of Tawas City, Michigan, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan. Craig’s wife, his sons and their wives by his side.

Craig was born June 16, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Lester G. and Evalyn M. (Rasmussen) Lundsted.. He grew up on Grosse Ile and graduated from high school there. He obtained his Masters Degree in social work from the University of Michigan and began a long time career as a social worker in the Caro, Michigan, area. Craig and Nancy enjoyed their retirement in Tawas City, Michigan. Craig enjoyed traveling, putzing around the yard, playing many rounds of golf at different courses, having new adventures with family and friends, and watching the many moods of Tawas Bay from his home. He also delighted in spending time with “the girls”, Cindy Lou and Schatzy, his and Nancy’s beloved pups.

Craig is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Marie Borosch whom he met in his early 60’s and married in 2006. He leaves his children: John (Patty) Lundsted, Judy Johnston, Christopher (Rhonda) Lundsted, Steven (Anne) Lundsted; and his grandchildren: Joshua and Justine Lundsted, Tara Kruse and Charles Johnston, Mason and Erin Lundsted, Cecilia, Evalyn, William, and Theresa Lundsted; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Theresa (Warner) Lundsted and brother Brian Lundsted.

Everyone will miss his contagious laugh and his upbeat look on life. A celebration of his life will take place June 27 at 2:00 pm at his home (1131 Bay Drive, Tawas City) overlooking Tawas Bay.

So sorry, Nancy. He surely cared a lot about others through his work. I never knew all that he did. I am glad you found him to share your life with. You certainly had lots of good times golfing and traveling and I swear that the picture of him was taken at his happy place--a casino, judging from his smile!
