Obituary Notice

Catherine Providence Bieszki, age 93, of East Tawas, Michigan formerly of Detroit, Michigan passed away peacefully Friday, April 2, 2021 at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital.

Catherine was born July 7, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Dominic and Rosalie (Vitale) LaRosa. She married Arthur Bieszki and together they shared 53 years of marriage before his passing on December 19, 2008. Catherine was a hair dresser by trade and made lifelong friends through her clients. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Catherine was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas and the Garden Club.

Catherine is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Kathleen Itchue of Rochester, Michigan; grandchildren, Jessica Leigh (fiancé, Brad Beshansky) Itchue of North Providence, Rhode Island, Sarah Michelle (fiancé, Justin Lassen) Itchue of Grayling, Michigan, Lucas Bradley Itchue of Romeo, Michigan (fiancée, Katherine Russell) of Grayling, Michigan; great grandson, Colton Matthew Lassen of Grayling, Michigan; numerous nieces and nephews. 

A funeral mass will be held for Catherine at 11:00 a.m. (in state 10:00 a.m.) on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas, Michigan. Interment will follow with a prayer service at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in East Tawas, Michigan. Online condolences may be shared with the family at

I knew Kay for many years of bowling with her. She was so much fun to be around. Then we found a mutual friend the Fielhauers from Grosse Ile. She also enjoyed life itself. Blessings to all her family.
