Graveside military honors will be rendered at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Esmond Evergreen Cemetery in Hale, Michigan.
William “Bill” Campbell Kovar, age 85 years, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Medilodge of Tawas City in Tawas City, Michigan.
Bill was born January 14, 1934 in Hackensack, New Jersey to the late William and Rose Kovar. After he graduated high school, Bill enlisted in the United States ARMY and proudly served during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1955. Bill enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, Detroit Lions football and many other sports on television along with enjoying watching movies and car shows. Bill was a member of the American Legion Post 422 in Hale, Michigan and a Past Commander.
Bill is survived by his children, Roxanne Corbett, Linda Wengenger, Billy Kovar, Steve Taup, Eddie Kovar, and Mary Ellen Hall; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; his furry canine, Cricket; and many friends. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Richmond Kovar; sons, Alan Taup and Mike Kovar.
According to Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside committal service with military honors will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Edmond Evergreen Cemetery in Hale, Michigan immediately followed by a luncheon at the American Legion Hall in Hale, Michigan.
