Obituary Notice

William Howard Look, Jr., 91, of Alabaster Township, formerly of East Tawas, Michigan passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, January 5, 2018 at St. Joseph Health System in Tawas City, Michigan.

Jr. was born December 27, 1926 in East Tawas, Michigan to the late William T. Look Sr. and Olga M. (Groff). He served in the United States Army from July 12, 1945 until March 4, 1947. Jr. had a lifetime career at the family business, William Look & Sons Automobile Dealership, that he co-owned with his brothers, Fred, Bernard, and Howard Look. Although he retired in 1988, he was still an active part of the dealership for years afterwards. Jr. married the former Mary M. Watson on October 15, 1949 and together raised three daughters. He was an active member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Tawas City, Michigan. He was a member of the East Tawas Fire Department for over 27 years where he served as Fire Chief for 15 years. He will be remembered for being a very talented person who could repair just about anything. Jr. enjoyed spending time with family and friends and many outdoor activities.

Jr. is survived by his brother, Howard C. (Betty) Look; three daughters, Laurie (Mark) DeBeau, Shelly McArdle, Tammi (Gary) Simmons; grandchildren, Matthew (Elizabeth) DeBeau, Jennifer (Zachary) Messina, Danielle (Keith) Whitcomb, Jade Neumann (Ron Cloum), Ryan McArdle (Amy Bosler), Randy McArdle (Angie Kortman), Sarah (Eric) Stein, Travis Simmons (Erica Jackson); eight great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Jr. was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Mary, of 42 years; son-in-law, Ronald McArdle; brothers, Fred and Bernard Look; brother-in-law, Bill Campbell.


Visitation for Jr. will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Buresh Funeral Home, 416 Whittemore Street, Tawas City, Michigan 48763. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 300 North Street, Tawas City, Michigan 48763. Pastor Mark Lindloff will officiate.
