Obituary Notice

William Albert Whitby, a 23-year resident of Oscoda, Michigan died Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at home.  He was born in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada on September 23, 1921 to John and Myrtle Whitby.  Following service to his country as a member of the United States Army during WWII, William worked as a commercial truck driver for the city of Detroit. After retirement, he moved his family to Oscoda.  William married his wife, Loretta (Elwart), in 1949.  In addition to his wife, William is survived by his children: Deborah (Rick) Collins of Fowlerville, Michigan, Michael Whitby of East Tawas, Michigan, and Nancy (Tom) Cadorette of Oscoda, Michigan; grandchildren: William (Louise) Taylor, Jonathan (Molly) Whitby, Michael Whitby Jr.,, Joseph Whitby, and Julianna Whitby, and great grandchild, Ariel Whitby. .   William enjoyed playing the trumpet and membership with the local VFW.  Per the family request, no services are planned at this time.  You may offer your condolences online at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
