Services for Walter will take place Monday, February 26th, 2018 at the Hale Chapel of Buresh Funeral Homes at 12 noon with Pastor Randy Dorcey officiating.

Obituary Notice

Walter Leslie Short, 93, of Hale, Michigan passed away peacefully Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Medilodge of Tawas City, Michigan.

Walter was born July 26, 1924 in Lupton, Michigan to the late Clarence and Henrietta (Rehil) Short. He married the former Almina Marie Chrivia whom preceded him in death on February 20, 2018.

Walter was an Army World War II Veteran and a member of the American Legion in Hale, Michigan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming.

Walter is survived by his daughter, Brenda (Jim) Ballor of L’Anse, Michigan; grandchildren, Beverly (Rick) Van Horn, Tom Ahearne, Tazia Ballor, Jim (Anita) Ballor; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Vivian Green; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his loving wife of 70 years, Almina, Walter was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Diana Sheltrown, brothers Gordon Short, Arthur Short, Prune Short; sisters, Francis Thayer, Shirley Smith.


Services for Walter will take place Monday, February 26th, 2018 at the Hale Chapel of Buresh Funeral Homes at 12 noon with Pastor Randy Dorcey officiating.
