Walter David Barwick

Age 90, of Greenbush, MI, formerly of Detroit, MI passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2019 in Greenbush, MI. He was born on October 14, 1928 in Detroit, MI to the late Colonel and Hannah (Ellis) Barwick. Walter worked as a bricklayer for Darrin Armstrong and as a bus driver for SEMTA for many years, finally retiring in 1991. He also served in the Unites States Army during World War II, retiring as a Sgt. First Class after 30 plus years of service in the Army and the Army National Guard. He loved woodworking and could fix just about anything he came across. Walter enjoyed building houses, boats and model airplanes. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy who he married on December 28, 1985 in Mt. Clemens, MI; children, Kim Young (Paul Stanhope) of Greenville, MI, Kris (John) Murray of Farmhills, MI; step-daughters, Robin O’Dowd and Kristine Murphy; brothers, James, Luther, Gordon and Keith Barwick; sister, Sally Barwick; granddaughter, Karly; 5 step-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Kathleen. A memorial service will be held at a later date and you may offer your condolences at
