Whittemore, Michigan

VIOLET M. RILEY (nee Brown) of Whittemore, Michigan, passed away April 11, 2012 in Tawas St. Joseph Hospital at 78 years of age.

She is survived by her children, Judy (Daniel) Dumas of Whittemore, Dennis (Sandy) Riley of Florida, Arthur (Rhonda) Riley of Whittemore, Greg Riley of Whittemore and Tracy (Mark) Braamse of East Tawas. Nine Grandchildren, Sara, Timothy, James, Jennifer, Christopher, Kenny, Jessica, Sam and Dawn. Also survived by eleven great-grandchildren: Aerial, Micheal, Jeffery, Austin, Cheynne, Chantell, Aaron, Roger, Ava, Ashton and Jordan, and three siblings, Rosalind Wahl of Grand Blanc, George (Frances) Brown of Tennessee, and Richard Brown of Bonita Springs, Florida. She is preceded in death by her husband Boyd, and two sisters Imogene (Chris) Stevens and Della (Joe) Spencer.

Mrs. Riley was a manager at the Pontiac Drive for many years before moving to Whittemore in 1967. She enjoyed reading, knitting dolls clothing, collecting and selling antique glassware, playing cards on Sunday, family gatherings, and watching her favorite T.V. programs like American Idol and Dancing with the Stars along with playing video games.

Cremation has taking place per request of the family. Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Hale Chapel of the Buresh Funeral Home, 121 S. Washington. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Aunt Violet, You will be missed so very much. I can remember the warm feeling I got every time I walked through your door, because that's who you are, a warm, sweet and loving lady. I remember Uncle Boyd teaching me how to play war. I was so young, but great memories such as these can never forgotten. Love and miss you Aunt Violet. You will forvever be in my heart.
