A celebration of Vickie's life will be held from 1-5 pm on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Whittemore Area Chamber of Commerce Hall.
Vickie Del Hinkley, age 60, of Turner, passed away peacefully at Saginaw Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital, with her family at her side, on January 9, 2020.
Vickie was born on August 2, 1959 to Del and Shirley (Young) Sizemore in Sandusky, Ohio. She grew up in White’s Landing where her parents owned a bait shop and raised her three children there until 1988 when they moved along with her parents to Twining, Michigan where they owned and operated the Sportsman’s Bar until 1995.
Vickie is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, John. Her dear; children, Brandy (Don) Sizemore, Bobbi (Dan) Neidler, Denis Neidler and Brent (Kacy) Hinkley. Her beloved grandchildren; Kylie, Bryce and Hayden. Treasured great-grandchildren; Westin and Brystol. Special niece, Trina Stookey and nephew; Justin Sizemore. Brother; Paul (Paula) Sizemore and sister; Sheila Kay. She had many extended family, nieces, nephews and so many friends. Also surviving is Vickie’s best friend; Sandy Paseka, and her daughter; Heather Steele. Her four-legged friends; Bella, Boo and Bentley.
Vickie loved her kids and grand kids with everything she had in her. She was a mother to many and treated each like they were her own. She loved music…Elvis was her favorite…and enjoyed playing pool and could play with the best of them. She had a great appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed camping. She savored her annual trips to Grand Marais for the music festival and gambling. Vickie always looked forward to her visits back to Ohio and was always so excited when she would see the “Welcome to Ohio” sign. She loved to crochet and make blankets for others, crosswords and puzzles to keep her busy. Most of all, Vickie cherished life and time with her family & friends. She was preceded in death her parents Del and Shirley, her sisters Sherry, Diane, and Josie, and her brother Butch(Porky).
Vickie’s family will welcome friends to a celebration of her life that will take place at the Whittemore Chamber Hall on Saturday, January 18th 2020 from 1-5pm. Cremation has taken place.
