Obituary Notice

Verna “June” Thompson, 90, of Saginaw, Mich.,formerly of Whittemore, Mich., passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida.

June was born November 7, 1924 in River Rouge, Mich. to the late David and Emma Mae (Boyden) Clark. She married John Head in 1941 and he preceded her in death. She then married Harold W. Thompson in 1962 and he preceded her in death in 1985.

June was a member of the Whittemore United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, puzzles, and photography.

June is survived by her children, Verna (Edward) Muckenthaler, of Turner, Vera Unkel of Saginaw, Virginia (Fred) Hasty, of Whittemore,; ten grandchildren, Edward (Tonia) Muckenthaler, Richard (Sharon) Muckenthaler, David (Kathy) Muckenthaler, Karen (Gary) Bortle, Ronald (Dawn) Unkel, Alecia (Duane) Strobel, John (Samantha) Unkel, Fred (Claudine) Hasty, Donald (Jennifer) Hasty and Amy Jo (Jason) Overstreet; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, William Clark; sister, Mildred Letienne.

Besides her parents, and husbands, John and Harold, June was preceded in death by daughter, Louisa Mae Head; grand-daughter, Sarah (Unkel) White; sister, Rose Simons.

Visitation for June will take place 2-8 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 and 12-1 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Buresh Funeral Home – Twining, 15 W. Maple Ridge Road, Twining, Mich. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Jody Coon from Whittemore United Methodist Church officiating. Cremation will follow and inurnment will take place between her husbands in Cedar Valley Cemetery, Twining. In lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Thompson Family. June was a great lady. She was my Avon lady for years. She was also on the Whittemore City Council and sat on the election board for a long time. She was one great person. My thoughts are with the family. May she Rest in Peace.

Sorry for the loss of your dear loved one, When the enemy death strikes, your grief can be great, though you may or may not hope in the resurrection. Take comfort in knowing that the Bible says, at (Acts 24:15; jw.org)“I have hope toward God, which hope men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection.” So, it is possible to see our loved ones again.
