Obituary Notice

Thomas John Nickell passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Thomas, age 78, is survived by his wife, Gladys, of 57 years. He also leaves behind two daughters, Peggy (Steve) Stiff and Susie (Steven) Rainey. Tom was blessed to have a deep love for his family including his fourteen grandchildren; Steve (Katie) Stiff, Mo (Scott) Ososki, Buck (Amanda) Machulis, Hollie (Adam) Little, Joshua (Kayla) Morgan, Jason Morgan, Airyonna (Tim) Parry, Christain Rainey and Alexis Rainey; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, Pearl (Denny) Priest and Esther Ward; and many nieces and nephews.
Tom was born May 6, 1939 to the late Clarence and Myrtle (Nichols) Nickell. He was a hard worker and instilled that value in his family. They will always cherish the memories of good times they shared whether laughing or working. Tom enjoyed farming, cutting wood, and wood-working. He decorated his home with with his wood-working creations along with each of his grandchildren having a piece he created. His memory and blunt truth will live on in all that knew him.
Visitation for Tom will take place 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2017 and 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2017 at Buresh Funeral Home, 15 West Maple Ridge Road, Twining, Michigan 48766. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Saints Cemetery in Whittemore, Michigan.
