Obituary Notice

Thomas Warren Holton, age 68, of Au Gres, MI, known to his friends as Hap, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020. He was born on November 11, 1952 in Alma, MI to Donald Eugene & La June Pearl (Gould) Holton. Hap attended and graduated from Standish-Sterling Central High School in 1970, where he played football and was in wrestling. Upon graduation he attended Saginaw Valley University for a time. Hap was a fabricator and machinist until his retirement. One could always find him in his workshop working on something. He enjoyed classic rock music and was in his glory when in his workshop fixing something. He at one time belonged to the Au Gres Lions Club. Scott described him as one who did things his own way. He didn’t give advice nor would he take advice. He was hardworking, self-sufficient and it was his way or the highway.

Hap is survived by his father, Donald Holton of Sterling, MI; wife, Linda; children; Daniel (Angie) Holton of Sterling, MI, Andrea (Al) Gilkey of Copperas Cove, TX, Emily Holton of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Gabriella, Elizabeth, Alexandria, Al, Jr., & Andrew; siblings, Deborah Holton of Lansing, MI, Christa Collins of Prospect, OH, Jodie (Ron) Bigelow of Sterling, MI, Scott (Sharon) Holton of Auburn, MI; many nieces and nephews and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, La June Holton.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Au Gres Chapel of the Buresh Funeral Home in Au Gres with Pastor Gary L. Gillings officiating. On-line condolences may be made to the family at
