Obituary Notice

Thomas H. Hilkey, age 82, of Prescott passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. He was born on January 9, 1936 in Detroit, MI to the late Harold and Eleanor Hilkey. Thomas served his country in the United States Army. Thomas was a member of St. Stephen of Hungary Catholic Church in Skidway Lake, the Skidway Lake Moose Lodge, and the Mills Township Fire Department for 33 years where he is a former Fire Chief. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and loved his dog “Sam”.

Thomas is survived by his children, Michael (Lorene) Saunders of West Branch, Larry (Cathy) Saunders of Gladwin, Derek (Grace) Saunders of Prescott, and Lloyd (Jill) Saunders of Prescott; his sister, Nancy Franklin of Dearborn Heights; 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathleen.

The visitation will take place on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 3-8 PM at the Prescott Chapel of Buresh Funeral Homes. The funeral mass will be on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11 at St. Stephen of Hungary Catholic Church in Skidway Lake. Thomas will be interred beside his wife at the Mills Township Cemetery.
