Pat was born July 10, 1938 in Omer, Michigan to the late Roy and Irene (Nowak) Holland. He graduated from Arenac Eastern High School in 1956 and attended North East School of Commerce before he began his long time career at Holland’s IGA in Au Gres, Michigan. Pat married the former Darlene Adele Stanley on November 11, 1967 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Au Gres, Michigan and together raised two children, Troy and Tracey. He enjoyed boating, fishing, bowling, woodworking, and was an original member of the Dirty Dozen hunt Club of the Omer Plains. His favorite pastime was the daily "coffee club" at Ali's Up North (formerly Dunleavy's) with the local men to catch up on the daily news. Pat was a very generous person to whomever needed help or assistance. His generous nature made him a favorite to so many people and to the town of Au Gres. If anyone needed anything, they went to Pat Holland.

Darlene and family- My prayers are with you. It is sad to say goodbye to someone who in our younger years was an important part of my life. Pat and I were great friends in our college years as well as roommates. He and his family were always kind and generous to me. When he was well he lived his life to the fullest and was happy. We will all miss him but should be thankful that we could share his life with him.
