Shuwang Ernst Clement Celebration of Life Service

In thankfulness to God for the gift of salvation and resurrection to eternal life, we invite you to the Celebration Of Life service for Shuwang Ernst Clement on Tuesday, August 8th at 7:00 p.m. in Celebration Hall at Sharon Lutheran Church (1720 South 20th Street, Grand Forks, North Dakota). During the service, we will lift one another up in prayer, hear God's promise of hope and new life through scripture readings and music, and have an opportunity to write memories and share stories of Shuwang's life. After the service, all are welcome to remain in Celebration Hall for a time of visitation.
Memorial contributions can be made to Sharon Lutheran Church. Those memorials will benefit Sharon's Faith Formation Ministries, which were so important to Shuwang.

My family and I would like to thank everyone for all of your thoughts, prayers, and kind gestures of support to help us through this difficult time as we mourn the loss of our beloved son and brother, Shuwang. We also invite you to attend a Celebration of Life service for Shuwang next Tuesday, August 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Sharon Lutheran Church (1720 South 20th Street, Grand Forks, North Dakota). Shuwang Ernst Clement
Shuwang Ernst Clement, age 14, of Grand Forks, North Dakota, passed away on July 13, 2017, in Noelville, Ontario, Canada.
Shuwang was born February 14, 2003, in Yueyang, Hunan Province, China. He is the son of Julia Ernst and Richard Clement, of Grand Forks, North Dakota, who adopted him on January 25, 2016.
Shuwang participated in many activities. He loved the outdoors, including golfing, fishing, bike riding, camping, tubing, boating, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and climbing the Au Sable sand dunes. He played percussion in the school band and violin in the orchestra, sang in the Grand Cities Children’s Choir, and attended language and music camps. Shuwang excelled at ping pong. He also loved theater, acting in Seussical the Musical, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and Keep the Faith. He was active in Sharon Lutheran Church and its youth ministries, serving on mission trips to Minnesota and Wisconsin, assisting with Vacation Bible School, and attending confirmation classes. Family trips and game nights were frequent and cherished.
Shuwang is survived by his parents; his sister, Cosette Clement; his paternal grandparents, Guy and Lucille Clement of Strathroy, Ontario; his maternal grandparents, J. Richard and Janet Ernst of Tawas City, Michigan; his great-grandmother, Lucia Labrosse of Noelville, Ontario, his aunts and uncles, Brigitte Clement and Troy Lepple of Komoka, Ontario, Matthew Ernst of Novi, Michigan, Andrew and Lisa Ernst of East Tawas, Michigan; and cousins, Kahlia Lepple, Vienna Lepple, Kara Ernst, Jack Ernst, Stephen Ernst, Otto Ernst, and Joey Ernst, as well as great-aunts and great-uncles.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 20 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home, 416 Whittemore Street, Tawas City. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 401 Main Street, East Tawas, followed by a burial service at Greenwood Cemetery in East Tawas. There will be a luncheon at the church after the services. His family will welcome friends at the church on Friday at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service, with Pastor Matthew Carpenter officiating.
