Shirley “Fay” Cherry

Age 74, of Oscoda, MI, formerly of Taylor, MI passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018.   She was born on November 20, 1944 in Taylor, MI to the late Hobert and Vivian Norman.  Shirley graduated from Taylor Center High in 1962. She married the love of her life, Robert “Gary” Cherry on July 18, 1964 in Southgate, MI after knowing each other since they were 4 years old. Together, they celebrated 54 years of marriage. Shirley enjoyed playing bingo, decorating and re-decorating, gardening, cooking, fishing off the pontoon boat and most importantly, spending time with her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Cherry; children, Robert Jr. (Felisa) Cherry and Cheryl (Ken) Matthews; granddaughters, Sydney and Kelsey Cherry; dog, Lilly and grand-dog, Charlie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 6 siblings. The family welcomed friends on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 12-3 PM with a funeral service beginning at 3 PM at Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda, MI. Aunt Shirley, you were a wonderful aunt, so loving and kind. I have many memories of our time up north together. You are loved and will be tremendously missed. Until we meet again
