SHIRLEY C. BROOKS of Grove City, PA, formerly of Curtisville, passed away April 29, 2012 at 82 years of age at Trinity Living.

She was born September 30, 1929 in Monroe, Michigan to John and Emma (nee Lazette) Vargo. She is survived by her children, Terry W. Brooks of Monroe, Matthew Brooks of Monroe, Becky (Melvin) Rifenbark of South Branch and Sue Gates of Pennsylvania. 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Emma Vargo; husband, William “Don” Brooks; one son, Fred Brooks and siblings, Bertha Satkowski, Dorothy Krantz and Johnny Vargo.

Mrs. Brooks worked hard, played hard and loved BINGO and casinos. She enjoyed deer hunting and cooking large dinner feasts for her family. Shirley has "left an imprint in our life and will forever be in our hearts".

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Hale Chapel of the Buresh Funeral Home, 121 S. Washington. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 2:00 P.M. Interment at Curtisville Cemetery, Pastor Don Miller officiating. A luncheon at the Curtis Township Civic Center will immediately follow.
