Obituary Notice

Robert E. Cook, age 78, resident of Prescott for 30 years, formerly of Flint, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. He was born on April 14, 1938 in Thetford Township, MI to Niley & Frieda (Bielert) Cook. He was a die setter for Flint Chevy for 30 years until his retirement in 1987. He married Buryel Louise Wier on April 9, 1960. Robert was a member of the Skidway Lake Baptist Church and UAW Local #659 Flint. He loved to watch TV especially sports programs, he had been a boxing coach in Flint.

Robert is survived by his wife Buryel of Prescott; children, Robin (Beverly) Cook of Pittsburgh, PA, Kimberly (Steve) Powell of Birch Run, MI, Paul (Cindy) Cook of Flint, MI, Jeffrey Cook of Prescott, MI; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; also survived by many foster children they took care of over the years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Niley & Frieda; brother, Wilbur and a grandson, Shane Powell.

Visitation will take place at the Skidway Lake Baptist Church at 4250 Lucinda Dr. Prescott from 11 am to 2 pm on Saturday, February 4, 2017. Services will follow at 2 pm at the church with Pastor Russell Schmidt officiating. Interment will be in the Mills Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
