Sincere wishes for lasting peace and comfort for Sheila, Sandy, Jennifer and family. Both John and I were blessed to have known Bob. As his secretary for many years, I saw first hand Bob's leadership skills, professionalism and fairness and the way he guided the district through various difficult times. I'm sure he will be remembered as Oscoda's best superintendent of schools. So long to a great role model and one of the good guys.

Across the Pacific and the continent, my heart is with Mrs.Hodges, the Bad Table and Oscoda. While not one of my host families, the Hodges was definitely part of the reason why I felt and keep feeling at home in Oscoda. As a 16-y-o Rotary exchange student from Tokyo back in 1986, I was not aware then how Mr.Hodges had great impact to my life. I really wish I could express in person my appreciation after so many years. RIP
Dear Sheila and family, our sincere condolences on Bob's passing. At different times in our lives Bob was a coach, a counselor, a mentor, a colleague, and most importantly a friend to us. It was very fitting that we saw him for the last time this fall at the sports complex which bears his name.

He rose up through the ranks to become a respected leader in our school district, and continued on to serve his community well in many aspects. "Well done thou good and faithful servant."
— Peggy Ridgway

Dear Sheila, we are deeply saddened by the news of Bob's passing. Bob was the first member of the Oscoda community to make us feel welcomed when I arrived at Wurtsmith AFB to be the vice Commander. Our working relationship over the next four years and continued friendship to this day is something I will always cherish. We are so glad that we were able to visit two years ago. Our prayers go to you and the family.

My Uncle Bob was a wonderful man. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him was truly blessed. You couldn't find a better soul anywhere. Heaven truly gained an angel Christmas day. Sending all of my love and a huge hug to my Aunt Sheila and my cousins Jennifer and Sandy. You are in my constant thoughts and prayers. Love you all so very much💜
— Jeanie Arnold
He stayed for a while with my family when I was about 7 or 8 (it must have been just when he was moving to Oscoda - my Dad was then elementary principal. He was so kind and patient. When he left he gave me his college meteorology book - which I have cherished (but never read, alas!) all these years.
— Lee Bothwell
