Obituary Notice

Richard Karl Shover, age 92, of Tawas Township, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Iosco County Medical Care Facility. He was born and raised in Tawas Township; graduated at Tawas City High School in the class of 1943. He entered the Army Air Corp October 1945 through February 24, 1947. He served as a telephone lineman and installer for the 8th Communications Squadron. Richard served 14 months at Clark Field, Philippine Islands. On September 4, 1948 he married Beverly Wegner, and they celebrated 69 years of marriage! Surviving is his wife Beverly; son, William (Dawn) Shover, son, Steven Shover; grandchildren, Connie (John) Henry, Tamara (Chad) Beckley, Keith Shover, Duane (Erica) Shover, and Christopher (Melissa) Shover; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Alyssa Henry; Collin, Emma, and Elyse Shover; Michael, Dalton, and Dane Shover; sister, Leona Beeck of Midland; and many special friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Eda Shover; brothers, Ervin, Harold and Elca Shover, Earl and Min Shover; sister, Lillian (Pete) Kirby; mother and father-in-law, William and Hazel Wegner; 2 brothers-in-law, and 2 sisters-in-law. He worked for the Iosco County Road Commission for 42 years "under many hats!" Per Richard's wishes, cremation will take place and he will be laid to rest in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
