Raymond Paul Maynard, age 75, passed away peacefully at Medilodge Nursing Home in Hillman, Michigan on January 28, 2019. Raymond lived in the Tawas Area with his wife Wilma (Lacy) Maynard for 20 years. Raymond was born in Escanaba, Michigan on November 8, 1943 to Donald and Dorothy Maynard. Raymond worked as a Second Cook on the Great Lakes ships for over 38 years. Raymond also served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Raymond is survived by his wife, Wilma, one daughter, Doreen Strege and her family of Tawas City, one son Earl Maynard and his family of Onaway, Michigan; two step sons, Jason Reece and family of Alanson, Michigan and Erik Lacy and family of Tawas City; one step daughter, Debra Schauttie and her family of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and many more grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Donald Maynard. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and Ray's family will honor him through a memorial service with military honors at a later date to be announced.
