Obituary Notice

Raymond C. Betts, age 87, of South Branch, MI passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was born to Victor Leroy & Lillian (Marsh) Betts on July 1, 1931 in Pontiac, MI. Raymond worked 30 years at the Flint Assembly Plant on the motor repair line. Ray also worked as a Union Rep. for UAW Local 659. He loved hunting and fishing, family time. He also liked chasing wild women (Per Aunt Jean). Oops, the family wasn’t supposed to find out about that.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Reginia “Babe” (Barber) Betts; his loving children, Bethany Thayer of Goodrich, Diania (John) York of Long Lake, Michael (Marie) Betts of Holenwald, TN, Jullie (Larry) Seeba of Hale, MI; 18 loving grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; his loving siblings, Ed (Betty) Betts of Curtisville, Shirley (Don) Watson of Oxford, Helen McClellan of Wixom, Ruth Ann (Gus) Firu of Auburn Hills, Jack (Robin) Betts of North Branch; many nieces & nephews; and his beloved dogs, Doggie Jones & Puppy Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Joanne Betts, Bill Betts, Ivan Betts, Ron Betts, Lee Betts, and son-in-law, Carl Thayer.

Visitation will take place on Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Hale Chapel of the Buresh Funeral Home from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 pm. Services will be on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Grabstonwicz officiating. Interment will be in the Oakgrove Cemetery in South Branch.
