Obituary Notice

Randy George Shears, age 57, of Tawas City, Michigan formerly of Franklin, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 28, 2021 at his home.

Randy was born August 12, 1963 to Leslie George and Mary Elizabeth (Blake) Shears.  He was a self employed drywall installer for many years in North Carolina before moving to northern Michigan where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and spending time with family.  Randy was loved and admired by many and one of the kindest souls you would ever meet.  He opened his heart and home to anyone in need.

Randy is survived by his loving wife, Donna Fay whom he married on February 6, 1982 in Franklin, North Carolina; children, Rodney (Donna) Collins of Bay City, Michigan, Ronnie (Amie) Collins of Franklin, North Carolina, Sonya (Larry) Collins of Franklin, North Carolina, and Scotty Collins of Franklin, North Carolina; father, Leslie George Shears, Jr; siblings, Sandy (Roger) McMahan of Franklin, North Carolina, Nancy (Darrin Lacina) Mandeville of Ohio, Connie (Roy) Wooliver of Ohio, and Roger (Tami) Shears of Ohio; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends especially his brother-in-law, Gene Barry, whom he loved hunting and fishing with.  Randy was preceded in death by son, Randy Jason Shears and his mother, Mary Elizabeth Shears.
