Obituary Notice

Paul Edward Culhane, 56, of Sage Lake, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at St. John's Hospital in Detroit.

Paul was born July 20, 1957, in Flint, MI. He grew up in Mt.Morris where he attended school until his senior year, when he graduated with honors from Phoenix Union High school in Arizona.

Paul's dream from first grade was to work on the railroad. His knowledge of trains and railroad history was extensive and after returning to Michigan he was hired in at Grand Trunk Railroad where he worked until moving on to the Chessie System Railroad where worked as a conductor and Breakman.

He married and had 3 sons whom he adored. His children were the most important part of his life and he was a dedicated and loving father.

Paul was an incredible artist and specialized in trains and railroad logos and symbols. Not only could he tell you everything about any specific train, he could draw them down to minute detail.

He was a quiet and private man who appreciated the simple things. He never let adversity make him bitter and kept a positive outlook on life.

Paul will be missed and is survived by his mother and friend, Charlene Culhane, brothers, Craig, Donnie, and Brent, sister, Helen (Casey) Alford, his sons, Casey, Jeff, and Shawn (Jessica) Culhane, grandchildren, Maddison, Lillian, Cassidy, Paul, Brook, and Bridget, and many nieces and nephews.He also leaves behind his buddy, his dog, Winnie.

Paul was preceded in death by his father, Donald Edward Culhane whom he is rejoicing in heaven with.
