Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life with military honors will take place on May 22, 2020 at 12:00 PM at the American Legion Hall in East Tawas.

Paul "Bud" Stephen Hupcik, 74, of Mikado, Michigan passed away on November 3, 2019 along with his 2 beloved parrots. He was born in Detroit on October 24, 1945 to the late Paul and Ann (Bodany) Hupcik. Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly Gay. He attended Whittemore Prescott Schools and joined the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. He retired from the United States Air Force and returned to Oscoda. He is survived by his children, Paul Hupcik (Silke), Lisa Dobias (Charlie), Leslie Roper (Allen), and Nicole Allen (Kennon); siblings, Elizabeth Williams, Philip Hupcik (Janet), Peter Hupcik (Sandy), Barbara Whetstone (Marty), Patrick Hupcik (Michelle), and Rose Myers (Ken); grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many others too numerous to mention. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed his 75 acres in Mikado, where he moved after Dolly passed away. He could often be found cutting wood or riding around on his four-wheeler or motorcycle. He was particularly proud of the Corvette that he worked on. He also enjoyed traveling to the Philippines and Thailand and was able to go back there a number of times to visit friends. He enjoyed working at Lixey Fisheries, volunteering with Iosco Flying Club, and working at Timco Aviation Services. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life with military honors will take place at a later date to be announced. He will be laid to rest in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Tawas City.
