Visitation for Opal will take place Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 3-8:00 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home, 101 East Harrison Street, Prescott, Michigan 48756.

Due to ongoing pandemic, facial covering are still requested and social distancing practiced as well as limiting the number of visitors at any given time to 25.

Services

Funeral ceremony for Opal will take place Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with visiting from 12:00 until the time of the ceremony. Pastor Doug Kennedy will officiate with interment following in Mills Township Cemetery in Prescott, Michigan.

Obituary Notice

Opal Kirby, age 64, of Prescott, Michigan passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 after a brief illness at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan.



Opal was born May 13, 1956 in Richmond, Kentucky to the late Callept and Oma (Dean) Messer. She attended Northville High School and worked many years as a secretary. In her spare time, Opal enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts projects, cooking for loved ones, sewing, and camping. She also enjoyed spending time with her husband, sons, and grandchildren.



Opal is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Bruce Kirby whom she married January 20, 1973; sons, Bruce (Kate) Kirby and Tim Kirby; four grandchildren, Connor, Paige, Timmy and Jack; five grand dogs; three great grandchildren, Callie, Piper, and Finn; two brothers and one sister; numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends.



Visitation for Opal will take place Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 3-8:00 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home, 101 East Harrison Street, Prescott, Michigan 48756. Funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Kennedy officiating.
