NANCY F. GLASS, age 72 of Oscoda, died on November 3, 2010 at 72 years of age. She was born January 11, 1938 in Dearborn, Michigan. After graduation from Fordson High School she studied two years of business at a community college. After college she relocated to California, where she worked as a secretary for two years at the training base for astronauts. While there, she had the opportunity to meet several of the astronauts. Later, she returned to Dearborn, Michigan where she worked at Mack Truck, while there she met her husband Paul and they moved to Oscoda. Nancy worked at the Wurthsmith Air Force Base Commissary until the base closed in 1992. After that she spent her winters in Florida and summered in Oscoda. She was very fond of arts and crafts and taught classes in Florida.
Nancy was the past president and life member of the American Legion Post #274 Auxiliary and a life member of the VFW Post 3735 Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; one son, Bradford (Lynelle) of Trenton, Michigan and two grandchildren, Aaron and Natalie Glass. One brother, Henry (Wanda) Eichner and sisters, Joan (George) Sipos, Marlene Blick and Marie Eichner. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Florence Eichner; and siblings, Ruth and Leonard, Jr.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Oscoda American Legion Hall. Arrangements handled by the Oscoda Chapel of the Buresh-Bennett Funeral Home.
