Obituary Notice

Michael John Kolena, age 98 of Hale, passed away at Hale Creek Manor on January 19, 2021.

Michael was born on September 12, 1922 in Clarence, Pennsylvania to the late Nickolas and Mary June (Guydosik) Kolena. He served our country with the United States Army before going to work for, and retiring from, Ford Motor Company in Northville, Michigan. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Knights of Columbus #7623, VFW #7435 and St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Mr. Kolena was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary, in 2006.

The Hale Knights of Columbus #7623 will host a rosary at 7:00 PM Thursday, January 21, 2021 at St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM Friday, January 22, 2021 until the time of mass at 12 Noon at the St. Pius X Catholic Church (3901 N. M-65, Hale, Michigan 48739). Father Tony Cureton will officiate and burial will follow at Esmond Evergreen Cemetery.
