Obituary Notice

Michael Jay Ulman, age 64, born on April 23, 1953 in Omer, Michigan passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, January 19, 2018 in Tawas City. Michael was a graduate of Tawas Area High School in the class of 1971. Right after high school, he started working in the automobile body shop profession with Ladd McKay. In later years, he had the opportunity to go into business for himself and became the owner and operator of M&M Collision. Michael operated M&M Collision successfully for 35 years! He will be always remembered for his enthusiasm of classic cars and race cars. Saturday nights, Michael could be found at the Whittemore Speedway cheering on his friends as they raced, a sport that Michael competed in for many years. He was always the life of the party, quick to put a smile on your face, and he will be forever warmly thought of for his sense of humor. He had a heart of gold, many friends and never had a bad work to say about anyone. He was full of jokes and laughter and seemed to have a nickname for everyone, including his cars and his fake leg, "goofy". Michael will be truly missed by all his family and friends who had the opportunity to know and love him. He is now survived by his sons, Jeff Gibbard and Michael Todd Ulman Jr; daughters, Amber Kelly, Britni and her husband Rik Thomas; brothers, Ron (Carol) Ulman, Dale Ulman; former wife, Bonnie Ulman; grandchildren, Steven, Scottie, Sawyer, Boone, Jade, Paityn, Victoria, and Lilly. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial mass was held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church with Reverend Lawrence Boks officiating. His family welcomed friends for a gathering at the Buresh Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. An online guest registry is available to express condolences at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
