Michael Frances O’Reilly

Age 87, of East Tawas, MI died on Monday, December 24, 2018 at Lakeview Manor with his wife by his side. He was born in Detroit, MI on February 12, 1931 to the late Michael and Mildred O’Reilly (nee Wilson). Mike graduated from Detroit Central High School in 1949. He enlisted in the United States Army and served as a Corporal while stationed in Germany. Upon his honorable discharge on September 24, 1954 he attended Wayne State University to become an accountant. Mike lived his life in Michigan, having moved from the Detroit area to East Tawas in 1992. He served on the East Tawas Board of Review from 1997 to 2010. He married Emily Edmunds in June 1957. He was a loving husband and wonderful father to his son Daniel. His love of the outdoors gave him many wonderful memories. Lots of sunrises and sunsets over Tawas Bay and Green Lake (Oakland County) were shared with family and friends. Mike enjoyed racing his Alfa Romeo at Waterford Hills and volunteering as flag crew when he wasn’t racing. He was also a good mechanic and ran his own brake repair business. Lots of wonderful family memories were shared and cherished. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 - 10:30 am at the Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City, MI. You may offer condolences at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
