Obituary Notice

Maryann B. Hardin (nee Barger), a resident of Tawas City since 1998, formerly of Saginaw, passed away very peacefully at her home surrounded by the love of her family at the age of 91 years. Maryann was born to George and Ann (nee George) Barger on September 15, 1927 in Saginaw. She graduated from St. Andrew High School in Saginaw. Maryann worked for 30 years as a Supply Office Manager for Veterans Administration hospitals in Saginaw; Coral Gables, Florida; Syracuse, New York; and Ann Arbor, Michigan. In 1989, Maryann decided to step away from the busy workforce, and begin to enjoy her well-deserved retirement years! She enjoyed playing Bingo, and knitting in her spare time, but more so than anything else, Maryann absolutely cherished the time she and her family spent together! She was a long time faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas where she and her family attended mass on a regular basis. Maryann will truly be missed, cherished, and dearly remembered by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Tom) Lambert of Tawas City; grandchildren, Terri Lambert of Tawas City, Sheryl (Bill) Strand of Gobbles, Michigan, Trish (Ray) McGraw of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Michelle (Adam) Lee of Bridgeport, West Virginia; great grandchildren, Andrea Taylor of Tecumseh, Michigan, Christopher Taylor of Tawas City, David, Daniel, and Brandon Strand of Gobbles, Michigan, Bryce, Matthew, and Alexandria McGraw of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Kaitlyn and Steven Lee of Bridgeport, West Virginia; cousins, Tom, Kyle, Jacquie, Forrest, Lillian, and Garret; and many dear friends. Maryann is preceded in death by her husband, Bryce Hardin, to whom she married at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Saginaw on August 10, 1946. She and Bryce were married for 52 beautiful years until his passing in December of 1999. She is also preceded in death by her parents, George and Anna Barger; Andrew Taylor; and many aunts, and uncles. A funeral mass for Maryann is scheduled for Friday, October 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas with Father Tyler Bischoff officiating. She will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in East Tawas. Her family will receive friends at church Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the mass.
