Mary Margaret Keena
November 14, 1928 – April 26, 2019

Mary Margaret Keena passed away peacefully in her sleep, at the age of 90, of natural causes on April 26, 2019. Mary was at Oscoda Fields, In Oscoda, Michigan.

Mary Keena was a resident of East Tawas, Michigan since the late 1990s where she and her late husband, Vern Keena moved, from Belding, Michigan to be with family.

Mary and Vern Keena lived and worked in Belding, Michigan for over 50 years where they raised their 2 daughters, Dr. Diana Keena-Ennes of East Tawas, and Marlene Keena-Tap of Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Keena is a retiree as City Clerk Treasurer of Belding. Mary was born of her parents, Steve and Eva Repik, in Ionia, Michigan where she graduated as valedictorian at St. Peter and Paul High School. She was preceded in death by her sister Anna Repik. Mary studied accounting at Michigan State University.

Mary Keena survived by her 2 daughters, and 2 son-in-laws, Steve Ennes of East Tawas and Keith Tap of Chicago. She also survived by 5 grandchildren, Aaron Rothman (Adam Edwards) of San Francisco, Adam Rothman (Dawn Rothman) of Minneapolis, Cameron Tap of Chicago, Vaughn Tap of Iowa City, and Mike Ennes (Lauren Ennes) of Washington D.C. Ms. Keena also has 4 great-grandchildren, Zach Rothman, Lev Rothman of Minneapolis, Lincoln Ennes, Mac Ennes of Washington D.C.

A memorial mass will be forthcoming during this summer, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Tawas City, Michigan. Arrangements were handled by Buresh Funeral Homes, Inc. of Tawas City, Michigan.
