Obituary Notice

Marnie Gale Addie Age 77, of Oscoda, MI, formerly of Wayne, MI passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at home with family and loving husband Charlie by her side. She was born on July 10, 1940 in Chatom, Ontario, Canada to the late Lorenzo and Christina Wiggins. Marnie retired through Ford Motor Company after many years of hard work, early mornings and lots of shopping. Going to the beach and shopping was her favorite things to do. In her earlier years she always had the perfect outfit for any occasion from her earrings, to her heels to her signature pink lipstick. Marnie was a night owl, a woman of boundless energy. Give her a Diet Coke, a board game, her friends and family and some inappropriate comments and you were guaranteed to hear Marnie laugh all night. When she wasn’t laughing at 3am she was boating or traveling somewhere warm with her husband and the many many grandchildren she had. She loved having company over. Marnie also spent her time doing cross word puzzles, while watching her favorite soap operas. She taught us all how to go after what you want no matter the obstacle, and to stay loyal to those you love. You could always count on Marnie to keep you in line with her sharp witted tongue we all loved about her. She had a strong independent exterior but her heart was full of generosity, compassion, joy, understanding and love. She was also the kind of mother that inspired the women around her to be mothers. Her fun loving kind soul will always be with us and will never be forgotten. Marnie is survived by her loving husband, Charles Addie, Jr.; children, Terri Cowan, Michael Barber and Lena Abernathy; sisters, Bonnie, Patty, Connie and Vickie; many grandchildren; and even more great-grandchildren and just as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William Barber and brother, Larry Wiggins. The family will welcome friends on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 11am-1pm with a funeral service beginning at 1pm at Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda, MI. You may offer your condolences at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com. Farewell sweet Marnie. You were simply magnificent.

My heart is broken with the loss of this special lady, she and Charlie welcomed everyone into their home, always a good laugh... always made you feel welcome and always had a way of making you feel special and wanted, so many good times to a lot of us, teen-agers, in the neighborhood. Marnie, had such a good heart, I always thought how lucky Terri, Willy, and Mike were to have such a kind, loving mom. How blessed all of us are to have known such a wonderful lady.
