Lorraine B. Auten

Age 92, of National City, MI and formerly of Novi, MI passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 16, 2021. She was born in Farmington, MI on June 9, 1928 to the late John and Florence Smith (nee Gravlin). Lorraine worked for many years as a switch board operator for Michigan Bell Telephone Company. She enjoyed playing Pinochle at the Sand Lake Community Center in addition to crosswords puzzles and other games. She was an avid Detroit Tiger fan and historian but she especially loved spending time with her family. Lorraine is survived by six children, daughter Debbie McMaster of Milford, MI, daughter Barbara Auten of Houghton-Hancock, MI, son Terry (Sharon) Auten of Mason, MI, daughter Ruth Kenaga of National City, MI, son Tom (Joellen) Auten of Allen Park, MI, daughter Sally (Ionel) Popa of Dryden, MI; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph J. Auten, daughter Patricia, son Robert, son James, brother Roland, brother Bob and sister Lois. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at the Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City, MI from 11:00 am until the time of the service for the family at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in the Oakland Hills Memorial Garden Cemetery in Novi, MI. You may offer condolences at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Lorraine. She was a member of our TOPS group in National City. I enjoyed visiting her at her home. She always had a smile and kind word for everyone. She will be missed.
