Obituary Notice

Age 69, of Tawas City, MI passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at his home. He was born on December 31, 1950 in Bay City, MI to the late Dale and Lois Packard (nee Paeth). Larry graduated from AuGres High School in 1969. After school he worked in tool and die for Resorter Tool. Larry went on to pursue a career in the telephone industry. He worked for Continental/Century Telephone Companies out of Pinconning and Hale, MI. Larry also worked for Tel-Key Communications in Tulsa, OK before retiring in 2016. His career spanned more than 45 years as a network technician. Larry was a very accomplished athlete in school. He especially excelled in football and track, where he held a school record in the 800 meters for several years. Larry enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing and most importantly, spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl whom he married on August 29, 1970 at the Twining Baptist Church. Larry is also survived by his 3 children; son Shane (Kammie) Packard of Broken Arrow, OK, son Troy Packard of Arcadia, MI, daughter Brandi (Robert Ward) Packard of Claremore, OK; 7 grandchildren, Jade (Nathan Salpas), Petrah Packard, Shelby Packard, Madison Packard, Kylee Ward, Dylan Ward, Charles Ward; great-grandson Arthur Aaron Salpas; brother Robert Packard, brother Roy (Rosemary) Packard, sister Julie Packard; mother-in-law Virginia Delano, sister-in-law Leanne (Bill) LaBelle, brother-in-law Kent Delano, brother-in-law Wayne Delano and nieces and nephews.
