Keith D. Dewald, Sr.
July 18, 1951 - December 25, 2019
Keith Dwayne Dewald, Sr. ended his earthly journey on Christmas morning, December 25th, 2019, surrounded in the arms of those he loved the most, his wife, Cathy, his children Keith Jr., and Shawna and their respective spouses, Julie and Ken, and his grandchildren, Cole and Hanna, in the comfort of his home.
Keith was born July 18, 1951 to Alloyes and Velda Dewald and was a lifelong resident of Au Gres. He grew up in his father’s business, Dewald’s Shell, and eventually became its owner, later working for United State Gypsum.
Keith was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying trapping, hunting and fishing. He continued to enjoy these activities even after an accident left him paralyzed in the year 2000. Deer hunting was his passion which he enjoyed with his son and grandson as well as taking the "scenic route” with his son-in-law. Keith had a keen interest in collecting antiques and took great pleasure in the collecting process. He enjoyed watching the wildlife outside his sunroom windows including, deer, turkeys, eagles, squirrels, cranes, and birds. Mostly, Keith enjoyed and loved his family.
Keith is survived by his wife and best friend of 47 years, Cathy, which he referred to as “Nervous Nelly”; his son, Keith Jr. (Julie) Dewald; his daughter, Shawna (Ken) McFarlane; his grandchildren, Cole Dewald and Hanna McFarlane; his mother, Velda Dewald; his brother, Kevin (Pam) Dewald; his sister, Debra (Dave) Pockrandt; brothers, Todd (Jen) and Troy Dewald; and many nieces and nephews. Keith was preceded in death by his father, Alloyes Dewald.
