Julie Johanna Enzenberger Philpot, beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend passed to everlasting life on Friday, June 1, 2018. She was born July 25, 1991 to Glen and Terri (Leavesley) Enzenberger and was raised in Tawas City, MI. She graduated from Tawas Area High School in 2009 and earned her BS from Alma College in 2013. She married her true love, Benjamin Philpot on August 6, 2016 and they made their home in Midland, MI.
Julie was beautiful inside and out, strong and independent, with a loving spirit that continued to shine forth and increase throughout her life. She loved her family and was devoted to her husband Ben. She liked animals, especially her pets. She had a dynamic personality and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, game nights, reading, sightseeing, travel adventures, waterparks, canoeing, and trying new recipes. She was full of surprises but nothing got by her. It wasn’t just the special occasion Julie but the day – to – day Julie that lived her life in every moment. Julie was a blessing to those who knew her well and will be dearly missed and always loved.
She is survived by her husband Ben Philpot, her parents Glen and Terri (Leavesley) Enzenberger, a brother Wayne (Alissa) Enzenberger, a brother Benjamin Enzenberger, a sister Shannon Enzenberger, her grandparents Dieter and Hildegard (Riske) Enzenberger, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, her grandmother Joanne (Kotwicki) Leavesley, her grandfather Glen Leavesley, and an uncle Dennis Leavesley.

We met Julie & her Mom at Massachusett General Hospital in Boston during her treatment. We could immediately see a wonderfully kind, intelligent, caring young woman going thru such a difficult time. She celebrated with us during our “ringing of the bell” for finishing our cancer treatment at the hospital. So thoughtful, she gave us a card & a sweet decoration of Boston to remember. We knew her so briefly, and we are utterly saddened by her loss. Such a gorgeous young woman. Our sincerest condolences at this time. Jim & Dale (Boston)
— Dale Young
Julie was my roommate in College, and from the moment I met her, she brought such a positive energy and uplifting light with her. I was nervous and shy at first, but Julie was welcoming and had a warm heart. She made it a point to stick by me and just like that, we adventured off. With her by my side, I didn’t feel so alone or shy. She brought out the best in me.. Her laugh was contagious and her silly, quirky personality always made for fun shenanigans. I remember sitting up late in the dorm talking about life and what’s to come. It seems like forever ago, but for some reason it still feels I met her yesterday. I thought to myself, “how cool is it that she’s my roommate and how’d I get so lucky?” Of course we bickered sometimes (mostly because we’d borrow each other’s clothes and not give them back, typical of college girlfriends who are roomies), but we always said goodbye to each other before leaving for class. I’m still in shock and I’m deeply saddened by the news of her passing. Julie had a profoud impact on my time at Alma, and when I remember Alma, I’ll remember Julie and that smile. I’m sending Julie’s family and her husband Ben all the love and prayers this world can offers.. Julie was the most beautiful soul and you should know how much she is loved and will be missed.
