Due to the ongoing pandemic, private family services will be held for Joyce and she will be laid to rest in the Richland Township Cemetery. Her family will host a celebration of her life for everyone to join together at a later date.

Obituary Notice

Joyce Virginia (Thompson) Hudson, of Prescott, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the McLaren Bay Region Hospital in West Branch; age 89 years. Joyce was born to the late Roy and Virginia (Jones) Thompson in Bay City on May 9, 1931. She graduated from Akron High School. Joyce truly enjoyed reading and cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren! She was a devout Christian woman who faithfully led her life through God. Each night, Joyce would spend a couple hours in humble and quiet prayer, not just for herself, but she would pray for family and friends, and anything going on in their lives where help was needed. She will dearly be missed by all who knew and loved her! Joyce is survived by her 4 loving children, Barbara (Walt) Stevens of Alger, Bonnie (Charles) Fries of Summit, Illinois, Sharon (Jerry) Munsell of Alger, and Mervyn Hudson (Lisa Winters) of Alger; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Blodwen Vanhove of Bay City, Ernest (Kathleen) Thompson of Woodhaven, Ruth Ann (Ron) Briggs of Prescott, William (Jeanne) Thompson of Prescott, Douglas (Bonnie) Thompson of Vernon, and Ralph (Audrey) Thompson of Prescott; many nieces, nephews, and special friends. Joyce is preceded in death by 2 husbands, Charles W. Beck, and Mervyn Hudson; her parents, Roy and Virginia Thompson; and 2 sisters, Jacklyn Felske and Patricia McDonald. Her family will host a celebration of her life for everyone to join together at a later date.
