Obituary Notice

Joseph Lee Richardson, age 84 of Hale, passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side, on January 10, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He is survived by his loving children, Debbie (Glen) Teelander, Steve Richardson and Kenneth Richardson. Brother, Charles Richardson and sister, Lois Lunsford. Fourteen grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, in 2019. Daughter; Janice, son; Joe and grandson; Patrick.

Joseph was born on January 24, 1936 in Bonnie Blue, Virginia to the late Emmitt Lee and Vesta Annie (Hess) Richardson. He married Barbara and together they raised their five children. He retired from General Motors and moved to Hale where he was a member of the West Branch Church of God and enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and fixing anything mechanical.

The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 11 AM – 1 PM Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the Buresh Funeral Home (121 S. Washington Street, Hale, Michigan 48739). Funeral ceremony will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with interment to follow at Esmond Evergreen Cemetery.

All visitors are respectively asked to wear a facial covering and practice social distancing while in the funeral home.
