Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and her family will celebrate her life through a memorial service on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Buresh Funeral Home in Prescott with Pastor Doug Kennedy officiating.

Obituary Notice

Joann Yates (Kaszubowski) a resident of Prescott since 1957, formerly of Sterling, passed away peacefully at her home under the loving care of her family and hospice, age 82 years. Joann was born on February 14, 1937 in Omer to Joseph and Mary (Bocheck) Kaszubowski. She worked for many years as a housekeeper for both residential and business clients. During the years when her children were young, Joann stayed at home to love, nurture, and raise them all while keeping up with household duties. Joann was a beautiful woman who had many interests and talents. Most notably she will be always remembered for her enjoyment of sewing, knitting, gardening, cooking, baking, and rummage sailing. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Joann is survived by her best friend and beloved husband to whom she married on June 7, 1958, Donald Yates of Prescott; 3 loving children, Danny (Maureen) Yates of Lapeer, Pamela (Douglas) Fisher of Lapeer, and Terry (Sharon) Yates of Tawas City; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and many special friends. Joann is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Kaszubowski; and a daughter, Lorie Ann. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and her family will celebrate her life through a memorial service on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Buresh Funeral Home in Prescott with Pastor Doug Kennedy officiating.
