Joan Elizabeth Garber (Qualls)
Joan was born on July 18th, 1936 and passed away peaceful November 11th, 2018 surrounded by her family. Funeral Services will be held 12 PM Wednesday, November 14th, 2018 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 AM- 12 PM. Joan was previously a resident of the Flint area and retired to East Tawas, Michigan in 1993, where she resided for 25 years. Joan worked for the Flint Board of Education in which she retired from in 1982. Joan married her loving husband Lee (Jesse) on June 21st, 1958. Together they raised their daughter Lisa (John). Joan had two granddaughters Lindsey (Michael) and Sarah (Nick), who she loved with her entire heart. Joan had a passion for baking and gardening. She was devoted to her faith. Joan believed the little things meant the most to people, she strived to make each person she would meet feel important and loved. Her smile and caring personality will be missed by her family, all of her loving friends and her coffee group (The Golden Girls).
Joan was preceded in death by her father Minor Qualls, her mother Helen Qualls (born Marshall), brother Eldo, sister Kathleen and husband Landon (who raised in her Michigan), and her daughter Deborah Kay. In lieu of flowers, those desiring to make contributions to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
