Obituary Notice

Joan C. (Tomich) Wiltfong
10/26/1944 – 07/11/2019

Born in Bay City, MI – Died at McLaren Bay Region with family at her bedside. A resident of Prescott, MI since 1992, formerly lived in Flint, MI for 30 years. Her official occupation was a cosmetologist, but she was a jack of all things: she was an avid seamstress, baked & decorated wedding cakes. She retired from Dollar General 2013 after working 10 years in retail and making new friends with her customers. Joan received her GED in 1985 after her daughters graduated from high school themselves.

She had many special interests such as playing cards, bowling, gambling (loved the slots), flower gardens, and chasing the ever elusive Morel mushrooms. But nothing brought her more joy than her family, children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, than the great grandchildren. She had a way about her with children, like the baby whisperer, she could calm a crying baby with ease.

She married the love of her life, Donald Wiltfong August 11, 1962 and they had 31 wonderful years together before he died unexpectedly in 1993. She is the mother of two daughters, Tina (Ron) Wiltfong-Sesler of Prescott and Donna (Darrin) Wiltfong-Wilson of Prescott.

She had eight grandchildren: Bryan (Stacy) Sesler, Douglas Sesler, James (Alicia)Sesler, Melissa (Jeremy) Elliott, Darrin, Jr (Katie) Wilson and Kayla (Billy) Raushi.

She had eleven great grandchildren that brought joy into her life: Devin, Logan, Cassidy, Aiden & Zoey Sesler, Mason & Brody Elliott, Jett & Jack Wilson and Addison & Reed Raushi.

She also had a way of “adopting” children along the way that all called her “Granny” regardless of any blood relation.

She had lots of nieces, nephews, and cousins, way too many to list completely-whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph Tomich, Marjorie Tomich-Sesler, step-father Donald Sesler. Siblings: Donald Klopf, Joseph Tomich, Judy Lee & Marjorie Devault. Nephews: Donnie Ziembo, Jack Klopf and great granddaughter Bristol Elliott.

Visitation will be at Buresh Funeral Home Prescott Chapel Monday, July 15, 2019 2pm -8pm.

Funeral will be held at the Prescott Chapel on Tuesday, July 16th at 11 am. Her final resting place will be in the Richland Township Cemetery.

Joan was a wonderful person! Thinking of you all! Love The Burr's
Aunt Joan was a wonderful women from the 1st time I meet her when I became part of the Wiltfong family which I am proud that of. Soon after marrying in the family I know I wanted my marriage to be like hers and uncle Donald’s the love they had was beautiful with 2 cute little girls. We have several memories we will always hold dear to us even if we did not see each other often the times we did it was fun. Love you and will miss you and Aunt Joan
