A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 1 PM at Calvary United Methodist Church in Flint, MI.
Jahleel Paul Garza-Harper “JJ” transitioned from this life to eternity on June 20th 2020, in a drowning accident in Oscoda Township, Michigan. He is preceded in death by Grandparents Ernest Paul Harper, Elizabeth Harper, Ruth Honesto. Sister Mahtaya and brother in law Louis H Webb II. Surviving are Robert Garza, parents Jeffrey and Cookie Garza Harper, sisters Heather (Findlay, OH), Alauna (Fostoria, OH), Kylee (Atlanta, GA). Brothers Timothy (Fostoria, OH), Jeffrey (Wheeling, WV), Malcolm and Patrice (Flint, MI), 17 nieces and nephews, two great nieces and two great nephews, and a legion of cousins and friends. Known to the world simply as JJ, this quiet soul touched the inter most part of everyone he came into contact with. He overcame all his obstacles like a royal prince, and he only spoke when wisdom led him. JJ served the community through Calvary Church he has played with the praise and worship team, was a large part of the water distribution during the Flint water crisis, participated in several Flint missions. JJ was baptized in 2011 at Only Believe Ministries Botkins, OH and was a K-12 home school graduate. JJ was so full of life this kid could say he lived, worked, and performed in multiple states. He entertained crowds with his keyboard playing while in the band “pappasixstrings” that included his brother Malcolm on bass and JJ’s dad. JJ was a carpenter employed by Jeff Johnson, LA fuse construction, and Damico Contracting, Inc. JJ was in carpenters union 1234 Detroit. JJ went after life, he hunted and loved the outdoors. JJ was a very private and personable person if you know JJ you have a memory. Memorial services will be held Saturday June 27th 1pm at Calvary United Methodist Church 2211 Flushing rd. Flint, MI 48504.
