Obituary Notice

Ila May Katterman, age 89, of Hale, passed away on Wednesday November 15, 2017.  She was born on May 6, 1928, in Hale, to the late John and Florence (Graves) Dooley.  Ila was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, St. Paul’s Altar Guild, and a longtime member of the Iosco County Agricultural Society.  She enjoyed baking, square dancing, and attending her grandchildren’s athletic events.

Ila is survived by her sons, Louis “Arlen” (Barb) Katterman of Hale, Rod (Dianna) Katterman of Glennie, and Nolan (Tammy) Katterman of IN; her sisters, Alice Shellenbarger, and Wilma Ruckle; her grandchildren, Klayton (Kayla) Katterman, Andy (Dana) Katterman, Nick (Danielle) Katterman, Ben Katterman, Dan Katterman, Logan Katterman, Wyomi Katterman, Casey Carmody, Noah Katterman, Ethan Katterman, and Alyse Katterman; 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Louis Charles Katterman.

Services for Ila will be held on Saturday November 18th at 11 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hale with a visitation two hours prior from 9-11 AM. The service will be officiated by Pastor Dean Muhle.  Memorials may be made in Ila’s honor to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Iosco County Agricultural Society.   Condolences may be left for the family online at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com

My thoughts and prayers go to the Katterman Family. I have known Ila since childhood, having gone to school and graduating with Ila. We talked every year for at least 1 hour on the phone, sometimes more. RIP Ila.
