Obituary Notice

Henry D. "Butch" Stickney, Jr. of Greenbush, Michigan passed away on Tuesday May 22, 2012 at Saginaw St. Mary’s Medical Center, age 49 years. Butch was born on November 25, 1962 in Detroit to Henry D. and Patricia Ann (Whateley) Stickney, Sr. He attended Lakeshore High School in St. Clair Shores. Butch worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for many years as a member of Local 324 through the Operating Engineers. Those who knew him will always remember how he loved racing. For a long time in his younger years, Butch raced mostly Modified Stock cars at the Mt. Clemens Speedway and the Flatrock Speedway. He was a very avid fan of NASCAR racing and also truly loved to hunt, fish, and visit with his friends. Butch is survived by his wife, Sharon Stickney of Greenbush, to whom he married on September 18, 2004. He is also survived by his loving daughter, Corianne (Joshua) Papke of Oscoda, his grandson, Xander Papke-Stickney, his sister, Sally Ann Stickney of Magnolia, Texas, 5 nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a funeral mass held on Friday May 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oscoda.
