Helen Marie (Ranger) Skiver January 6, 1934 – January 21, 2019
Helen Marie Skiver, 85, of East Tawas passed away Monday, January 21, 2019, in her home surrounded by her loving children.
Helen Marie Ranger was born January 6, 1934 in Alcona County to the late Nickolas and Helen (Lessard) Ranger. On December 27, 1951, she married Harold Skiver. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2010. Helen was employed at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital for 18 years where she made many lifelong friends. She enjoyed collecting dolls and antiques, gardening, participating in Relay for Life, volunteering countless happy hours making beautiful quilts with her friends in the Stitching Ministry of Holy Family Catholic Church, feeding and watching birds and spending time with her family. Surviving are her daughters, Elizabeth Borowski of Tawas City, Catherine Koehn of Rose City; her sons Raymond Skiver of East Tawas, Harold (Charlene) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Keith Skiver of Harrietta; granddaughters Jessica (Dean) Guoan, Julie Schaaf, Leighanne Skiver, Sheldon Skiver, Dena Koehn, Tamara (Andrew) Hart, Aryn (Ted) Oliver, Lori Debusk, Helen Skiver; grandsons Bryan Koehn, Shane (Tina) Redfield, Norman Lee Redfield, Nicholas (Pamela) Skiver, Christopher Liztner, Shane Skiver; great-grandchildren Kyle Nelkie, Karlee Nelkie, Timothy Guoan, Jason Guoan, Jeffery Guoan, Colin Schaaf, Elise Mckenzie, Allison Litzner, Lilliana Hart, Caleb Hart, Cameron Skiver, Dominic Skiver, Alexis Anderson, Laura Redfield, Lindsy Redfield, Kami Redfield, Krista Curtis, Cody Curtis, Kali Steele, Kyler Steele, Keagon Gingerich, Samual Hill, Madison David and Mackenzie Perkins; three sisters, Norma Williams, Beatrice Wojnar, Vergiline (Joe) Smith; brother, Don (Erlene) Ranger; sister-in-law, Bonnie Ranger; and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Skiver was preceded in death by daughters, Laura Redfield and Theresa Martin; grandchildren Jason Skiver and Hannah Sleeseman; brothers, Dale, Robert, Lloyd Ranger, and Raymond Lessard; three sisters, Christine Kurkerwicz, Margaret Zingaro and infant sister, Mary Ranger.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas, Michigan. The family will welcome friends from 9:30 AM until the time of mass at 11:00 AM.
