Obituary Notice

Geraldine (“Gerri”) Scott was born in 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late William and Louise (Bonkowski) Gawron, who had a small business for many years. After her early years at St Mary’s school, she attended Saginaw High School, graduating in 1960. Gerri passed from this world on June 6, 2020 at the age of 77.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Raymond Scott, Sr.; three loving children, Raymond (Silvia) Scott, Jr., Debbie Scott, and Robert (Andrea) Scott; and three beloved granddaughters, Carlee, Marlee and Lindsay. Two dear sisters, Donna (Thomas) Atkins and Janet (William) Weed, and several nephews also survive.

Sadly, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her infant son, Robert Anthony.

Gerri enjoyed many years as a loving and devoted wife to a proud UAW worker, residing in rural Thomas Township where the couple raised their family. For retirement, she and her husband escaped north to the rustic splendor of Alcona County, where they expanded a small 1950s cabin in the Huron National Forest. From Alcona, Gerri loved keeping in touch with family and friends, and sending presents for birthdays and Christmas. She also tended to beloved pets, watched lots of animal-rescue shows, and enjoyed going to the casino and playing computer games.

Mrs. Scott has been cremated. A Celebration of Life Service will be announced and held at a later date.

I was saddened to learn of Geri's passing. I had the pleasure of meeting her a long time ago when I worked for her sister. She always treated with a kind heart. She will be truly missed. Prayers to Ray and family. Always remember she will forever in your heart.
