Geraldine Lang Konenski, with her big, kind smile was a sweet soul who touched the hearts of many people. She just happened to be my maternal grandmother. She long ago stole my heart and for 43 years, I watched her steal other people’s hearts. In the days after she passed, I thought about all the wonderful memories I have of her from making current jam, to the fine art of composting, to picking wild morals mushrooms in her back woods and even…. when she made salmon patties and served it to me like it was the best thing in the world. While she was a good cook, the thought of salmon minced into a patty did not appeal, right? It was really hard to tell her that since she made it with kindness and served it with homemade cucumber salad and a ginger ale. I have so many wonderful memories of her and I am truly sad she is no longer with us here on earth however, comforted that she is always watching over all of us. My condolences to the entire family. Love you all wherever you may be.
